AITA invites everyone interested in uncovering the secrets of human remains to join our free online Basic Course in Bioarchaeology.
Whether you are completely new to the field, curious to learn more, or have some background and want a refresher, this course is designed for you. No prior experience or special requirements needed — just a passion for discovery!
Curious about what bones can tell us? This course introduces you to the core practices of bioarchaeology — from identifying and analyzing bones to estimating sex, age, and introducing you to the world of paleopathology. Step by step, you will learn how experts bring the past to life through skeletal remains.
How does the course work?
The course is completely online and built to fit around your schedule. All lessons are pre-recorded, so you can watch them whenever it suits you — from anywhere in the world 🌍.
You will have one full month to go through the content at your own pace. At the end, you will take a short, simple test to reflect on what you have learned. Once you have completed your test, a digital certificate of attendance will be delivered to you at the official closure of the course 🎓 — a perfect way to celebrate your achievement and your first step into the world of bioarchaeology 🦴✨.
Time Schedule
📅 The course runs from September 1st to October 1st, 2025.
From day one, you will receive an email containing access to all the lessons, which you can explore at your own pace throughout the month. You will have plenty of time to complete the course and take the final test before the official closing date.
